Building Performance Mailing Lists
The following mailing lists relate to building energy simulation and ratings.
NEW! BLDG-RATE
BLDG-RATE is a mailing list for people using building performance rating systems. Discussions of any green building performance rating system or building energy performance rating system are welcome. Some of the most common rating systems include the LEED rating systems (New Construction, Existing Buildings, Homes, etc.), ENERGY STAR (Label for Buildings, Target Finder, Home), BREEAM, various Home Energy Rating Systems (HERS), and Green Globes. Building rating systems provide a method to objectively grade, or benchmark, the environmental and/or energy performance of both commercial and residential buildings providing a score that others can understand. Discussions of design-oriented as well as operation-oriented rating systems are encouraged. Many building rating systems are in use today and conversations relating to any and all of them may take place on the mailing list. People of all experience levels ranging from those just learning to experts are urged to share their questions and answers on the mailing list. Access the bldg-rate Archives.

BLDG-SIM
BLDG-SIM is a mailing list for users of building energy simulation programs. Building energy simulation programs allow users to estimate the energy use and operating cost of residential, commercial and other types of buildings. This allows engineers, architects and others in the building design trade to compare alternative designs and select the design that is cost justified. They are frequently used during the design process when choosing between alternatives in the components that make up a building including insulation level, heating and cooling distribution systems, furnaces, boilers and air conditioning equipment. Since the users of building energy simulation programs are spread across the world, this mailing list is an attempt to foster the development of a community of those users. Experienced and inexperienced users of building energy simulation programs are welcome and are expected to share their questions and insights about these programs. Access the bldg-sim Archives.

eQUEST-users
The eQUEST-users mailing list is for everyone that uses the eQUEST program. Users at every experience level are encouraged to join this mailing list and share their questions and knowledge. The HAP-users mailing list is for everyone that uses Carrier's Hourly Analysis Program (HAP). HAP is part of the E20-II HVAC System Design Software. Users at every experience level are encouraged to join this mailing list and share their questions and knowledge.
